Brazil records highest ever trade surplus in 2017

Brazil’s trade balance closed 2017 on a US$67 billion surplus, a 40% high compared to 2016 and also the highest ever trade surplus registered.
Exports reached US$217.7 billion while imports totaled US$150.7 bn.
The main exports were agricultural commodities which saw a 28.7% increase compared to the previous year while the main imports were fuel which rose 42.8% in the same comparison.
